Reporting and Filing Deadlines

Florida law requires you to report the injury to your employer within 30 days of the accident under § 440.185, or 30 days from the date a doctor first informs you that the injury is work-related. Once the claim is reported, the carrier has 14 days to either accept or deny it; in the meantime, it must provide medical care under "pay-and-investigate" status.
